Learn to Knit - Beginners Course

Learn to knit with me, Louise from Sincerely Louise. As an award-winning knitting pattern designer and author of the beginner’s book First Time Knits, I’m passionate about helping people discover the joy of knitting. I’m delighted to welcome a small group of beginners into my Sheffield studio for a relaxed, hands-on crash course in knitting.

Across four lessons, you’ll learn all the essential skills to get you started, including casting on, knitting, purling, and reading patterns. Classes are kept small, with a maximum of six people, so everyone receives plenty of individual guidance, support, and encouragement.

Who are these classes for?
These classes are designed for absolute beginners, and no previous knitting experience is needed. If you already have a little knitting knowledge and would like a refresher or confidence boost, you’re very welcome to join too.

What’s included?
All materials are provided, including yarn, needles and patterns. Complimentary tea and coffee at each session are also included.

What will I make?
You'll make a scarf using different stitches and a hat. Both projects are knitted using super chunky yarn and big needles, which are provided.

Confirmation 
You will receive a confirmation after booking and before the class, with information on how to find the studio. 

Accessibility:
The studio is on the ground floor, with a small step up at the entrance. There is an outdoor toilet block (proper Sheffield!), which also has a step up.

Cancellation policy:
If you’re unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible. If you cancel within 48 hours I will issue a full refund. If you cancel after this date, I can issue a rebook code for a future course.

What is the space like?
All workshops take place at the Sincerely Louise studio at Chaucer Yard, near Bramall Lane. The space is inclusive, welcoming, and open to everyone. 

Is there parking?
Paid on-street parking is available directly outside the studio and on nearby streets. You can use the cash or the pay to park app. 

Will I receive a confirmation email?
Yes — you’ll receive a confirmation email with full details on how to find the studio the day before your class.
