My new book, First Time Knits, is a learn to knit book with a Sincerely Louise twist. It takes you from beginner to knitter in nine exciting and achievable projects, from basic stitches to knitting a jumper, with each project building on the skills learnt in the previous one. The projects are accompanied by online video tutorials to make learning even easier, and a dedicated website with additional help, bonus projects and more.
The thing that makes First Time Knits different to other learn to knit books is that you'll meet my knitters - Amala, Katie, Simon and Zoe - follow their knitting journey, and learn with them. With no previous experience they worked through the step-by-step projects, and became fully-fledged knitters. You can learn from the mistakes they made, and see their finished projects and feedback.
First Time Knits also guides you through pattern reading, working in the round, sewing up, customising your projects, and many other skills.
I believe that if you can knit, purl, increase and decrease you can make anything, and that's exactly what you'll learn!
This book is aimed at complete beginners, however there are projects that more experienced knitters will also love to make.
Animal phone cosy
Bear cup warmer
Whale bottle carrier
Lion Head (you may have spotted him on my Instagram)
Hot dog dog (yes this is exactly what it sounds like)
If you order First Time Knits directly from this Sincerely Louise site, you'll receive an exclusive booklet of four bonus knitting patterns. The bonus patterns come in a 36 page A5 booklet and include additional photo tutorials. The projects are:
Amala the squirrel
Katie the doughnut kitten
Simon the gorilla
Zoe the koala
