These nocturnal neighbours spend their days underground and their nights exploring the urban jungle. Now you can knit your very own badger, complete with distinctive black-and-white striped face.

Part of my Welcome to the Urban Jungle collection, this badger is knitted flat on straight needles using an acrylic and cotton-blend yarn. The pattern includes intarsia colourwork to create the characteristic facial markings, making it a rewarding project for more experienced knitters.

• Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze Aran (61% cotton, 39% acrylic) – 2 balls of grey, 1 ball of cream and 1 ball of black 
  

• 100g toy stuffing

• 2 × 12mm black eyes and washers

• 5mm (US 8) knitting needles (optional)
