This squirrel is knitted flat on straight needles using a combination of acrylic and cotton-blend yarn and super chunky faux fur. The fluffy tail adds a contrast in texture and isn't too hard to work with.

• Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze Aran (61% cotton, 39% acrylic) – 1 ball of grey colour and 1 ball of cream

• Zooaura Super Chunky faux fur (100% polyester) – 1 ball for the tail

• 50g toy stuffing

• 2 × 10mm black eyes and 1 × 12mm black eye, with washers

• 5mm (US 8) and 10mm (US 15) knitting needles (optional) 

• Black DK yarn for embroidery
